Great Keppel Island is one of the cheaper and more accessible islands in the Great Barrier Reef. We decided to make it the final destination on our impromptu road trip to Rockhampton.
On Day 4 of our road trip to Rockhampton, we made another detour via The Town of 1770: a blissful access point to the Southern Great Barrier Reef, just South of Gladstone.
On Day 3 of our road trip to Rockhampton we stopped in Bargara and explored Mon Repos: an historically-charged region, home to the loggerhead turtle in the Southern Great Barrier Reef.
